How we do it
We think about our work and our working relationships in many different ways. They all have something in common: simple, rooted thinking. Both the client and the agency have to feel good about what we’re doing and where we’re going. Sometimes that means compromise. But it also means a well thought out project that meets the objectives. It’s been said that, “The value of an individual may be measured by his/her contribution to the success of others.” We embrace this thinking. Clients hire agencies because they want fresh ideas and problem solvers. That’s what we do.
Ideas Drive Brands
Let’s face it, at the end of the day, our job is to continually create fresh and effective ideas that drive your brand. And that, in turn, drive your sales. That’s what we do all day, every day, for every client. We dig, and think, and work our way into the heads and hearts of your customers. We work hard to connect with real live people in a way that builds confidence, value and trust while building attitudes, beliefs and feelings about your brand. Ideas really do drive brands.
Far Reaching Resources
When it’s time to look outside the Northwest for inspiration, we’ve got it covered. We are the exclusive Oregon and Washington member of ICOM, an organization of independent agencies. We maintain mature operating agreements with over 85 leading agencies throughout the United States and around the world. Each agency functions as a branch office for the other, and each brings a unique perspective to the table. So whether it’s across the country or around the world, we can offer you a wealth of experience and information to help solve problems and stimulate thinking outside the box.
Let’s Get to the
Media of the Matter
Sometimes there’s a fine line between media and creative. Some of our best media plans are also some of our most creative work. We are always finding new ways to use media more effectively by constantly exploring new digital avenues in an ever-fragmented marketplace. Our media-savvy professionals know the advantages of metrics and analytics but, at the same time, they appreciate the art of segmentation, lifestyle media habits and good negotiating skills. Our media group is armed with the most sophisticated media research tools in the industry.
It’s About Time
We Went Public
We consider public relations to be an essential part of most any integrated-marketing communications campaign. Turtledove Clemens public relations professionals can help you with everything from promotions to media relations development and publicity.
Digital and Interactive
Creating great websites is in our blood. Add great SEO and there’s a recipe for genuine, unsolicited leads. But we’re not done. We’re going to sling YouTube, Facebook and Twitter into the batch. Oh, and while we’re at it, how about a heavy dose of Google AdWords, Facebook Ads and a targeted pay-per-click campaign? From concept to development, development to deployment, we push the envelope to level the playing field and put your website and digital campaigns above the rest.
Let’s Get Social!
Give your brand the attention it deserves. Social media marketing allows for two-way communication between consumers and brands. Want to ask your customers a question? Leave a message on Facebook or Twitter. Social goes much deeper than just interacting with your consumers. Social allows your market to expand by shared appreciation for your products. Want to reach the largest audience? Jump on the social band-wagon.
Integrated Marketing Communications
In our lobby, there is large saying on the wall “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.” Integrated-marketing communications require written plans that pull together all of the communications channels, strategies, details, responsibilities, and accountabilities. It’s the road map to get you where you want to go. We all know that good marketing plans always include the “4-Ps” of marketing, but in todays world the “5th-P” is participation. Planned participation of all interactive and social channels are an integral part of any plan. We’ve had lots of experience developing and implementing truly integrated marketing communication plans.
Life Before Spam
That’s what it was like back in 1942. No smart phones. No Internet. Not even television. Back when spam was really SPAM and came in a can. Fortunately for us, there was ad man Earl Heims, who opened the doors of Earl Heims & Associates. He did good ads. Sometimes right on the back of a cocktail napkin. In 1962, ex-CIA public relations man, Harry Turtledove, joined him. Heims & Turtledove did good ads and good PR (but now you had to know the secret code.) In 1972, Jay Clemens, fresh out of business school, added strategic marketing to the mix and things changed forever. Today, well over a half century later, Turtledove Clemens is a fully-integrated marketing communications firm with offices in Portland and Seattle.
Don’t let the buzz over digital marketing and social media fool you. Traditional broadcast such as television, cable and radio are among the most powerful commercial communication channels on the planet and remain critical components of an effective integrated marketing strategy. Broadcast makes the cash register ring, which is why every major brand in the world invests a significant chunk of its marketing budget in it. Local television and radio is much more fragmented and complex than ever, which makes it critical that you work with an expert. Our experienced buyers use their knowledge, relationships and state-of-art syndicated research to get results and returns for our clients.
